Site History NON LLSC SITE - Abington (Black Hill) is a Cloudbusters Training site. Peter Shields (Cloudbusters) negotiated this site and is usually willing to allow small numbers of club members to fly here subject to phoning him first.
Brief Site Description: Smooth round topped hill, flat on top. Best in East - North East winds.
How to get there: From M74, Junction 13, Abington Services, travel 2 miles West on old A74 (B7078) and park sensibly in lay-by.
Restricted Areas: Fields with crops or livestock.
Parking Notes: Park sensibly in lay-by or on verge at side of road. Do not obstruct gates.
Landowners: N/A - All site contact via Peter Shields (Cloudbusters).
RAF Ref: Not known
Launch Notes: Hang-gliders: Due to this being a (non - club) PG training site it is not expected that HG will use this site.

Paragliders: Easy launch from anywhere on hill depending on wind strength.
Top Landing Notes: Smooth flat top ideal for landing - no vices but beware of compressions at ends of the liftband.
Bottom Landing Notes: Hang-gliders: N/A.

ParaglidersIn the bottom field beside the road, but remember this is a training site where students have priority. Give them lots of room.
Hazards: The main hazards are overhead power lines to North of landing field, and fences. Power wires should not be close enough to constitute a hazard, unless trying to land near cars. RAF often fly this area midweek.
XC Tips: Major boonies dominate the downwind landscape after 3-4kms. No site record.
Special Rules: All permissions and liason via Peter Shields. Remember this is a school training site and first day students could be in the air.
